Letter from Kathy

My daughter Lindsey and I just had the best time in the gorgeous desert of Southern California. Spent days singing, taping hbo special, recording, and most of the time DAY AND NIGHT flying over dunes and down Dickie's private runway on quads, dune buggies, (Lins "flew" down his runway in his new convertible white Corvette, ahem, at 90-100mph!). I just became ADDICTED TO THE QUAD! Even went out at one AM to see the MilkyWay as I've never seen it before. I'm now adding new software to upload video, digital photos to the website, and hopefully can get a shot or two here on the Journal. I was just going to stay one night or two? Five days later...and I can NOT move a bone/muscle in my body. Totally "lost" my voice to the desert winds, dust, blooming wildflowers, but IT WAS WORTH IT! Jill, Dickie's wife made us feel right at home, welcomed us all as "Family" and we just really RELAXED, PLAYED, LAUGHED, and CRIED, CRIED, CRIED tears of joy, at being reunited again. Dick broke down in tears more than once, then I Cried, then Jack Reeves cried (he's the entertainer who introduced us to each other, and talked Dickie and I into guest-starring in country nightclubs when we both screamed, "WE CAN'T DO THAT!" WHAT A WEEK, and I just can't wait to get back there again.

Wait until YOU HEAR DICK'S NEW ALBUM? GO TO Dick's Web pages and LISTEN TO THIS! He's not the KING OF THE SURF GUITAR for no reason, folks. Just the GREATEST. And his son Jimmy? Ten year old prodigy. Plays GUITAR, drums, piano, and is champion dirt bike rider, etc. Also, gallant, chivalrous, gorgeous little gentleman, and I am proud to call him my friend. Jill, Dick's wife is a stunning beauty (her modeling portfolio is thicker than the Big Apple's Yellow Pages, and she plays bass and sings with Dick. Well, Dick flew off on a forty day tour in his private plane, on his private runway, but left us the entire desert to 'PLAY' on. Oh, and I almost forgot Matt. The producer/director of the HBO film about Dick and his family (us included here). What a GUY!

Glad to be back. Just wish I could move my "over the hill body." God, it hurts, LOL!
